January 2009 Update

The start of the year has been very busy. We are in the midst of a number of conversations with companies about their projects. We are thankful for the opportunity to present our solutions. Our team will undoubtedly provide the best possible services for those clients once we are awarded the business.

It will be interesting to see how the economy affects the number of companies that have the advertising budgets for online marketing. To this point, we have seen a trend of business owners looking to update or re purpose their websites to serve their business needs better. Websites are now being considered as a vital stream of leads more so than previous years. Companies are expecting more performance from their websites in terms of conversion of traffic to actual sales or qualified leads.

Our solutions have laid the groundwork for clients to establish a better rate of conversion along with the growth in the amount of traffic that arrives from the search engines. Targeted marketing has provided an improved environment for bringing more qualified traffic to the site. This qualified traffic consists of website visitors that have found our client sites on the search engines through the most relevant keywords. Our purpose in optimizing client sites is to position client brands on the search engines for the most relevant terms that consumers use for searching product and service solutions for their needs.

We look forward to helping our existing clients have more successful and effective Search Engine Marketing campaigns. We also welcome the opportunity to bring results to new clients.

Internet Explorer 7.0 Sucks

I know this is not a new thought, but I've finally had it with that browser. I downloaded the updated version and it is just horrible. It is slower than now than the days of dial-up. Looks like Firefox has won yet another user.

Now comes the fun part of getting all of my passwords set up in Firefox for all of the online tools I use for business.

Thanks Microsoft, once again you've put out a product for your benefit and not the end user.

Convenientarian

Convenientarian - I've seen the term used in reference to persons who just eat whatever they feel is convenient for them.

I submit a new definition for the word. Here goes:

Convenientarians are those people that are quick to tell others about their beliefs or even how others should act or deal with a certain situation, but when it comes to applying the same advice to their own lives they are far doing what they tell others to do. It's all about how others should act or believe, but when it comes to them whatever they say is what is right for them at the moment. How convenient!

I know a few convenientarians...in fact, I lived as a convenientarian for many years.

It's a strange world that we live in. Far too much selfishness. And that's all I have to say about that.

Have a great weekend.
