Stay Away from Big On Digital
I tried to buy flat panel LCD monitor from Big On Digital. I don't even feel they deserve a link here.
They claimed they had the item I wanted in stock, in their store...so, I ordered one. I called them every 3 days to find out what the status of my order was. They kept telling me they were waiting for the tracking number from their drop-shipper and once they got it, they would forward it to me. Why would they need a tracking number from a drop-shipper if they had the product in-stock, in their store. BECAUSE THEY LIED!!!!! 3 weeks went by before I ever get any type of info back on my order (even though they said it would take 3-5 business days). When they did finally contact me it was to tell me that the product I ordered was damaged during shipping. I paid for insurance just for in the event that would happen, but what do they tell me next?? The product I ordered is out-of-stock and discontinued by the manufacturer. I would need to pay an additional $150 to get the next generation of the same model from that same manufacturer. They weren't going to ship me that new model even though I already paid for such protection with the insurance.
Needless to say, I asked for a full refund. That's where the pause button has been superglued down. I haven't gotten my money back. I call them every day asking where the refund is only to get the same garbage that it has been processed. My bank shows no trace of any attempt to refund the money. So now I have filed a VISA credit dispute, filed a complaint with the BBB in New York (yes, New York...I should have known better than to do business with New Yorkers) and I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
This is the one time I wish I still worked for iBEAM...since I got the chance to go to New York from time to time. I would have made plans to pay a visit to that store location and get my refund processed personally. I'm not a violent man...but that could change very easily.
So, don't do business with Big On Digital. They are thieves, cheats and liars. They are fork-tongued miscreants that will say whatever they need to in order to get you off the phone. They probably just snicker once they get off the phone. What's worse is every time I've called them, I've spent more time listening to Jerry Seinfeld while on hold rather than talking to someone to get this issue resolved. I now believe Jerry Seinfeld is in on the conspiracy to steal my money. That stinks, because I used to like watching Seinfeld re-runs. If I ever see Mr. Seinfeld, I may just have give him a knuckle sandwich. He's not funny when you're on hold trying to find out where your money is.
Blasted New Yorkers....
May all of your sports teams fail miserably from here to eternity.
p.s. If you want to check out some info on a company there are plenty of places to go online (which I should have done before getting burned), but one place I found is Blagger (www.blagger.com). It's the voice of the people on how businesses rate.
