Building search engine friendly pages
Whew! I needed that break. After working through the weekends again, it was nice to take some days off during the week. Especially when it is as hot as it has been here in Arizona and because of the rising price of gasoline. I spent the last 3 days working (or should I say hardly working) from home. My brain was taking some vacation time after being overworked.
We spent last weekend re-building part of the gorage.com site to be search engine friendly. We researched the best ways to do it so that we'd have the maximum effect. The plan is to get users' item listings to appear on Google, Yahoo!, MSN and all the rest of the search engines. Not exactly an easy feat to achieve since it requires that we restructure many of the items needed to make the pages work. Passing variables, managing sessions...so on and so on. It took a while, but we got it working. Unfortunately, that meant putting other feature upgrades on hold for a while. We felt that this function was more important because it offers the most benefit to our sellers....more online exposure for their items. It's rather cool...you should check it out. Of course, by now you know the location: www.gorage.com
The next step is getting the site spidered every day to pick up the new items being added.
