Starting Early
Fitness
That word is relative. There have been times where that word had meaning in my life, times where it was a priority but lately it's a word that can bring a good laugh.
Went to the gym yesterday morning. Feel like crap today. My back is sore and muscles ache. Going to the gym used to be fun. It's now work. So, this time around I'm not going to wait for the new year, I'm not going to work out in the hopes of looking better for some event or function...I'm going to try to get healthy and be a little more fit. I've begun a new routine of taking a larger array of vitamins, minerals, supplements and all. Those cheesy advertisers in health magazines would be proud.
The most important thing is to watch what I eat. So, I'm gonna hop on that bandwagon too. Jared and his sandwiches can take a hike, I'm gonna be smart about most of the junk food I eat. Why try to stop it...just try to manage it a little better.
Jennifer & I have been talking about having kids, so the last thing I want is to be a dad that starts wheezing while playing with his kids. Fun time for my kids shouldn't be Ronald McDonald's playland while daddy stuffs his face with Big Macs, although that does have quite and appeal. I would hope that I can teach my children healthy habits, get them outside to play, take them to the park for some fun and try to keep them away from to much TV and video games.
This will be interesting, this whole idea of turning over a new leaf. Let's just hope I don't find some Reese's peanut butter cups under there.
